Summary of Application Experience
I'll add more when I have time, including my SOP.
For now, I'm a non-trad with 7 years of clinical experience working in rural and underserved populations. Gates Millennium Scholar. Experiences in Mental Health, Emergency Medicine and in Patient Safety. Some Neuroscience research - about 1.5 years worth. Never published. Undergrad GPA was a nightmare, so I did a post-bacc, which brought up my GPA just enough. While working on my post-bacc, I commuted for 3 hours every day to my university, and worked full time - so while my GPA is no where close to the norm, it is as a result of extenuating circumstances. My overall story is one of overcoming adversity, and that will later be explained when I post my SOP. My goal in pursuing medicine is to work with the underserved Latino population, and my experiences corroborate this.
Summary of Experience:
I was stupid enough to apply here without researching the fact that they have a GPA restriction. They automatically reject you if you have anything below a 3.2.
