Close to the top of my list intially due to my interest in rural/underserved medicine and public health, but I think OOR status doomed me. Still, with this school serving applicants from 5 states, I can only think it was fair.

Application process was going way better than expected at that point. USA seemed pretty unrealistic with current IIs, so I couldn't justify another plane ticket to attend.

WITHDREW before decision. decided I didn't want to live in NYC. That being said, the students at Columbia were possibly the happiest of any school that I visited.

MATRICULATING. Very excited to be accepted here. Started out as my dream school, but the interview day really sucked. I've heard most people feel that way, so I'm going to give it another chance at second look. 4/2/13: Received my aid package today. Wow, very generous. 04/23/13: Second look gave me a much better impression of the school. Surprisingly HMS turned out to be my cheapest option, which makes this a no-brainer.

WITHDREW. Wow, the facilities here are amazing. Not too excited about the prospect of living in Bmore, but I've spent the last 5 years in a city with similar problems, so it's not the biggest concern for me. 04/04/13: Withdrew after receiving financial aid estimate today. HMS offer was much better.

WITHDREW. 3/4 tuition scholarship. Sweet! New 1 year pre-clinical makes me a little nervous. Plus not sure I want move back home just yet. However, generous scholarship still makes Vandy a possibility. 04//16/2013: Received financial aid. Aside from scholarship, all loans.
