July: Picking Schools: I knew I did pretty well with my GPA and my MCAT. I've got amazing state schools!!! So I figured I'd be able to apply to any other reaches OOS for giggles. I chose very carefully--where I thought I'd be most happy. God will place me where I'm needed. :) __________________________________________________________________________________________ November: Well, I'm going to be a doctor. For that, I could not be happier. However, I can't help but feel (insert emotion) about these holds. I suppose I'm interesting and cogent enough on paper to be invited for interviews, yet not a shoe-in during the interview. Or maybe it's something else. Maybe its my MCAT. Or the fact that its so competitive these days. It's really impossible to tell, I guess. I've sent a few updates and I'll be making some calls to admissions offices come January. I'll rally a few more letters of recommendation. Regardless, don't let the process define you! ___________________________________________________________________________ Early February: Easier said than done, but after interviewing folks for RA selection and after my own interviews, let me tell you about how to win that interview.
First of all, relax. Second of all, be courteous. Thirdly, be passionate, be yourself. Fourth, make that connection. Fifth, address your love for that school and why you'd be a perfect fit.
I wish I had a second chance at some of these interviews, so be your best and be happy with what happens. I was an interviewer myself, so I know how hard it was to differentiate applicants at first. Interviewers are looking for the easy signs to reject or accept you right away, so give the right reasons and don't be afraid to shine. Anyways, good luck! I'll be crossing my own fingers for the remainder of this cycle it looks like. _____________________________________________________________________________________
Wow...can't believe everything that's happened the since the last time I've logged on. Ultimately too blessed to have the opportunity to stay at home. I was Born to be a Buckeye and just grateful for this working out
Summary of Experience:
This school's location is PERFECT. Right by Central park and I know those Barstarzz do their pull-ups there in Manhattan daily. (that's just a side-dream lmao)
Summary of Experience:
Withdrew--Loved the idea of Einstein, but with an interview this late and acceptances in hand at Cincy, the prospect of the Bronx can't buy me. Better this II go to someone who really wants to go NY.
10/19- II! Took forever though, and they're booked until February 25th :/ I will still schedule an interview for now :)
Summary of Experience:
Rejected. Nerves really messed up my first interview. My second interview I did not even get to talk--the interviewer talked the whole time! Goes to show how much these interview matter. (really depends on who's interviewing you)
12/8--Hold... :,,(
11/6--An honor to have visited here. Mayo does it right--the teamwork, the mission, the people.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...In utter shock. This was my first II :D So blessed!!
Summary of Experience:
WOOOOOOOOOO! I'm in!! My interviewer called me :) What a perfect day. ___________________________ Alma Mater. Took way too long to do this. All about the []_[] !!!!!!!!!
WOO INTERVIEW !!
TWO INTERVIEWERS (during one interview session). They grilled me...but they were nice. It was a stress interview which I think I'm good at. :xf:
................................... can't believe I withdrew...but I'm going where I'd be happiest. hasta luego Miamiiii!
