A non-trad trying to pursue a lifelong dream at the age of 41. Graduated ages ago and had to take all the pre-reqs in addition to upper-division courses as a postbac, racking up 79 new credit hours. Worked as a CNA, a cab driver, and a manager in a nice, cushy office. It\'s funny some of these odd jobs outside of my comfort zone have always turned me into a better human being. I know medicine is demanding but hopefully it will bring out the best in me.
Applied to 18 MD and 17 DO schools to cast my net wide but I probably applied to way too many schools. I ended up withdrawing from 12 schools (did not complete their secondaries) and eventually rejected from all MD schools. At this point, I\'m grateful that some schools are willing to take older students like myself and I am very excited to begin my journey.
