Brief Profile:
Will update with more specific details after the cycle ends. After much deliberation, I decided to make this profile because I didn\'t see too many other applicants with as much of an MCAT/GPA disparity as I have. So far, I\'ve gotten much luckier with interviews than I could have expected. I think that my MCAT helped get me a second look at some schools, but ultimately I think my application rides on the strength of my ECs. I really did what I loved for 4 years, and it turned out that what I loved involved lots of clinical medicine :-)

Application Cycle One: 06/02/2011
Undergraduate college: Top 5
Undergraduate Area of study: Biological/Life Sciences
Summary of Experience:
WOW. Everything about Duke was amazing! (Well, the MMI was pretty stressful, but everything about the school itself was awesome). It\'s going to be a loooong wait til March.
Summary of Experience:
I LOVED Emory. I\'ll try not to gush too much to avoid disappointment later, but this was the first school where I stepped on campus and really felt at home. The new med school building is beautiful, and all of the students (and admissions staff!) I met seemed friendly and laid-back. Grady is a HUGE plus for me; it\'s exactly the kind of place where I want to do my clinical training, and med students get to do the majority of their rotations there. And surprisingly I also really liked Atlanta. It was a big enough city that it kind of felt like I was back in the Northeast :)
There was one individual interview (30 mins with a faculty member who only has access to your PS and the name of your undergrad) and one group interview which was 3 interviewees, 2 faculty members, and one MS4 (the MS4 is also your tourguide). I think the individual interview went really well, and the group one was a little weird...
Fingers crossed...I would be so thrilled to end up here!!
Summary of Experience:
Case interview day was great! All of the students seemed super laid back and friendly, and I love all of the \"free\" time (/time for self-directed learning and outside activities)...only ~2 hours of lecture/day! IQ (PBL) was also awesome to watch; I really think it would be an effective/fun way for me to learn. Drawbacks: Cleveland, very limited financial aid, I\'ve heard anatomy is not great here.
Summary of Experience:
Vandy is a great school. Only real turn-offs were that it seemed like most students came straight out of college (despite my age, I did take time off!) and that Nashville seemed somewhat lacking in diversity. Otherwise, the new curriculum looks awesome, the interviews were super chill, there is TONS of community support, and opportunities for mentoring by faculty abound. I think I\'d be really happy at Vandy! :-) Fingers crossed.
