    Summary of Application Experience

8/13 - I don't want to spend a ton of money on apps with my current MCAT score. Additionally I am severely limited to the NYC area. My wife works in Manhattan and we own our apartment.

10/2013 - Early Decision Madness... Complete and utter failure at NYMC as many would have predicted. In reality I have always been more of a DO candidate. I'm not really sure why I let other premeds get into my head about the MD/DO divide. Well here we go again. I'm starting the DO application process super late because of the early decision agreement. I'm looking at 4 - 6 weeks of processing time so I'm guessing Tourocom and NYCom won't be seeing my application till mid November. This cycle turned into a bit of a disaster for how much planning I put in.

11/2013 - Event though I've applied late it seems like I'm still in the running. Both of the NY DO schools seem to run a bit of a slower application cycle then most so interview invites have only just started going out. Anyway that is good news for me. I'm feeling a bit more positive at the moment. Happy thoughts right?

12/2013 - My local DO secondaries are complete... Now I'm officially sitting in the waiting room. It would be so nice to get an interview invite before Christmas.

2/2014 - I finally received an interview invitation. Touro Harlem here I come.

3/2014 - That's the end of that cycle. Now to get a better score on the MCAT and try again:)

3/2014 - I take that back... I got another invite:)

5/2014 - I was waitlisted at NYCOM. I sent a letter of intent and will be sending an update letter shortly. So now I wait until I hear something. I scheduled another MCAT for early July. Time to start prepping for next cycle.

8/2014 - Ahhhhhh! I got accepted off the waitlist on orientation... class starts tomorrow. I'm super happy and a bit nervous but I'm gonna be a Doctor in a few years:)
