Summary of Application Experience
AMCAS primary submitted around 10AMish June 1st, verified next day around 4PM. Heard that submitting early is crucial. All LORs in by mid July. 1 Committee, 2 science professors, 1 non-science (Spanish) professor.
Took the March 26, 2011 MCAT, thought I could do better on PS and VR, did really well on BS and WS. Signed up for the August 23, 2011 administration.
Received secondaries but decided not to fill out anymore and just concentrated on studying for the retake. Continued filling out the rest on Aug 25th (gave myself a day\'s break to mentally/emotionally recover from the exam) and beyond.
Shadowed 2 radiologists (Iranian father and son) at Mercy Hospital and an emergency room physician (originally from Haiti) at Holy Cross Hospital. Volunteered at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center (Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Center) since freshman year. Two years of physics research with conference presentations. Honors program at my university, along with ECs. Work part time at a local tutoring center. Yep, just taking things one day at a time.
Suprisingly did better on the PS section on my retake.. I thought it was much harder second time around but hey, that\'s how the MCAT is right? you never really know :P BS and WS sections were again really good, VR was still poor but I don\'t feel too bad about it. VR is aparently notorious for giving many preMeds a hard time so, we\'ll see what happens!
Interview at MCW was awesome!!!! :D :D I definitely see myself here, beautiful facilities, friendly people, nice area :)
Received call from MCW\'s director of admissions... Happiness beyond measure!!! M.D. Class of 2016!!!!!!!

Summary of Experience:
SR July 20th. I\'m kinda wondering if I really should apply here... :|
Still gotta wait for my next paycheck before anything else happens anyway :P
Finally withdrew. Rush requires no individual MCAT section below an 08. Even though I did well on the sciences, I got a 07 in Verbal so.. :|
Summary of Experience:
SR June 22. My account will be \"on hold\" until my new MCAT score is released =P
10/4: I decided to no longer apply to this school. Realized I applied here mainly for the name, but things should be so much more than that :) For one, not digging the class size reduction in the past few years. I read their PDF statement about that but one can argue some good reasons for the other side as well. I do like their interdisciplinary approach to politics and social issues :)
Summary of Experience:
SR June 20th, submitted next day. Long shot, it\'s the highest ranked school on my list :O
Received an email from them in mid August saying they can\'t offer me an interview at this time but will keep my file \"open\".... I might as well consider that a rejection right?
Summary of Experience:
SR June 29th, sent on the Aug 25th but wasn\'t officially \"complete\" until 9/30, so won\'t be hearing from them in a while. I have a friend who goes here, says it\'s a really cool school :)
Summary of Experience:
Alright, received my last secondary (this one) on July 27th. This school is a long shot so we\'ll see. Like U of C, they too won\'t look at my secondary app until my new score comes out :| Let\'s see how this one plays out...
Rejected :P (no surprise, their average MCAT is like a 36) *rolls eyes*
Summary of Experience:
SR July 11th. Sent by mail August 27th.
Got an interview invite this morning (9/1)! Huge surprise! So soon! First one :D
Accepted to MCW and would not choose this school over that one. I think a larger class size is more beneficial in a broader sense. We need more doctors. If professors are worried about having too many students, then we need more professors. If the government is worried about spending, it should get smarter in how it handles the economy. Yes I said that.
Summary of Experience:
SR June 21st, submitted same day. No essay, which I really liked. That means they focused on my primary and my personal statement. Honestly some of these other secondaries were really repetitive of the primary, and a few schools even had me re-entering all my classes and activities on the secondary. Seriously? It took me forever to do that on the primary and I had to do it again?? But anyway, I was \"pooled\" Sept 7th, then invited for an interview 4 hours later...
... wow LoL, talk about fast :)
School was AMAZING! Huge hospital complex and gorgeous facilities. Everyone was so nice and welcoming, and the interview experience was very laid back and comfortable. No trip-up questions like the nightmare stories I\'ve been hearing on SDN :P Only negative thing is there are no dorms :| have to find housing on my own somehow...
After work I listen to voicemail and hear a message from around 5PM.. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! from the director of admissions. I died!!!!! and yet never felt more alive!!!!!!!!!
Summary of Experience:
SR July 6th. Have a few friends who go here, great school :)
Good God!! Interview invite?? YES! Scheduled mine for the Rockford campus later this month :D
It\'ll be quite a long drive, but because they acknowledged my existence lol this is the least I can do.. I feel honored :) Hopefully I get accepted, if things for any reason don\'t work out with MCW, I\'ll have another option.
Interview went pretty well, much smaller batch than the near 70 students who interviewed with me @ MCW ha. It was a panel, which wasn\'t too bad :S hopefully I came out strong!
Good news! On 12/15 my application status page indicates that I am pretty much accepted (according to SDN LoL). Will need to wait 2 more weeks to have the actual acceptance letter :)
Received acceptance packet Christmas morning! I\'m not religious but I definitely feel blessed today ^_^
Accepted WITHOUT having to do the summer long or year long pre-medschool program thing. I signed up for the Rockford campus because the facilities are the better than the other 3 which I hear are more run-down..
