Summary of Experience:
Three profs affiliated/on DGSoM Admissions Committees wrote LoRs for me, and no love from my home school. Guess this process is a crap shoot. Will still always love UCLA. Wouldn\'t have picked another place to do my undergrad, the research/clinical opportunities available here are ridiculous.
Summary of Experience:
Good school, but they don\'t emphasize research as much as I\'d like. Also, wouldn\'t choose over Mayo/UCSD. Hopefully someone else can get an interview!
Summary of Experience:
Duke has everything I want in a medical school: world-class research, strong social mission, fantastic international medicine programs, and a commitment to educating future medical leaders. Honored to receive an interview invitation, especially considering they are interviewing way less people this year with their new MMI format.
LOVE DukeMed! Legit research, humanistic and compassionate patient care, Duke basketball, southern hospitality... what more can I say, Duke is amazing. I was really impressed that they truly emphasize psychosocial factors of disease in addition to the traditional pathophysiological mechanisms. Mr. Wallace is a great human being, really represented the school well.
??? Totally surprised by the rejection, expected a WL at least. Interviews went really well, or so I thought lol....
Summary of Experience:
Excited!!! One of my top choices going into this cycle. Obviously great research. I\'m interested in learning more about clinical opportunities for students.
Amazing students and facilities and great global health programs. MMIs were fun and enjoyable. Some of the happiest students I met. Stanford and UCSF really seem to be in a class of their own. Even if I don\'t end up here, I will definitely consider it for residency. Beautiful suburban location.
Summary of Experience:
My dream school!!! Honored to be offered an interview.
EVERYTHING about this school is perfect. I\'m still in awe.
AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
Amazing clinical/research opportunities, localization in beautiful and exciting San Francisco, happiest students I met, strong social mission, great international programs, home to the largest biomedical construction project in the world (Mission Bay campus), opportunity to participate on the Admissions Committee as a medical student...In short, unparalleled opportunities. The closed file interviews were fun and interesting. My faculty interviewer really grilled me, asking a blend of ethical questions related to health care accessibility as well as detailed questions about my research. However, we really hit it off. I also really enjoyed speaking with the student interviewer, and he was able to offer an important perspective on life as a medical student at UCSF. I also loved that despite high rankings in virtually every department, the students and faculty were in no way arrogant. Everyone is very accomplished and successful, but this only seems to collectively motivate everyone to further induce positive change in society. This has been my dream school for years, and I will probably be here next year!
Summary of Experience:
Looking forward to learning more about UCSD!
LOVE UCSD. Brand new facilities, great research funding, amazingly successful and organized student-run free clinic for uninsured populations, and you can\'t beat the location in La Jolla right next to the beach. I can definitely see myself here. They said I should find out if I got in/waitlisted/rejected in 1.5 weeks!
Summary of Experience:
Sooo excited to check out Mayo, I\'ve heard great things about the school. Their unique patient care philosophy is really attractive as well.
Holy cow. This place is absolutely amazing. Unlimited clinical opportunities. Passionate faculty who are leaders in their field eager to become a mentor for medical students. EVERYTHING is about the patient. Laid back, conversational interviews. I love this place. Honestly, the only con for me is the location (I live in a large city), but I know I would be VERY happy here.
First interview invitation, first interview, first acceptance! 15K/year scholarship!
Withdrew. Mayo will always have a special place in my heart, but its really hard to beat UCSF.
