Changed career interest/ majors after freshman year from engineering to biology pre-med. Feel free to leave feedback...

Process Overview:
Interviewed at Dartmouth 09/05/10 would come here in a heartbeat
Interviewed at Yale 10/22/10 absolutely loved the place
Interviewed at UVM 11/09/10 interesting curriculum, nice facilities, overall I had a good experience there
Interviewed at Rush 12/08/10 block system sounds good. students seemed very happy, and made jokes, new hospital looks nice, friendly environment

Accepted at Rush 12/29/10 Shocked! was not expecting notice so quickly and super excited. going to be a doctor:)

Interviewed at Jefferson 2/16. Was a very pleasant day, most the day was led by medical students, very enthusaiastic faculty. This would not be a bad place to go. Am hoping for some good news from them (they said about 2 weeks)

Interviewed at U of Illinois at the Rockford campus. This campus seemed good for those interested in rural medicine. Would not be my first choice. Pretty short interview day, most there were instate applicants, and a few from California. To prepare def. read over the SDN interview feedback (most my questions were identical to those listed by other students)

Accepted at Jefferson 3/2/11 ! Got a personal phone call notifying me of the decision which was really nice! Still hoping for Yale or DMS...

4/26/11 Update: Am really starting to like Jefferson, and look forward to their second look on 4/29. Waitlist movement at Dartmouth is expected to pick up between May 20 and June 20th...going to be a loooong wait:/ but ill do whatever it takes:) Still hoping!

5/09/11 Sent LOR from my research PI to Yale and Dartmouth. Not sure if this will help but worth a try to get off the waitlist.

5/14/11 Withdrew from Rush. Never thought i would be turning down schools, was a tough decision but Jefferson it is for now.

5/16/11 Dreams do come true! Got accepted at Dartmouth off the wait list: initially missed the first phone call but when i heard Andy Welch\'s voice on my answering machine my heart started racing, pinched myself to make sure i wasn\'t dreaming:)...and called back immediately to hear the awesome news! Patience, perseverance, and persistence. I am ecstatic about this acceptance and to anyone reading this -everything is possible!- Apply widely, pick your dream school and pursue it.

5/18/2011 Just withdrew from the UVM waiting list, and from Univ. of Illinois. Also received a letter from Yale placing me in Tier 2 of their waiting list. I am pretty much set on going to Dartmouth but am still waiting on receiving the paper work from them in the mail to confirm my seat in the class. Life is good:)

5/25/2011 Accepted Dartmouth\'s acceptance offer and withdrew from Jefferson today. For weeks now i had convinced myself that attending Jefferson would be good, not expecting to hear back from the others, so it was slightly difficult to suddenly drop all my plans there. But it is for the better. DMS was always my top choice. People are absolutely correct when they describe this process as a \"roller coaster ride\".

05/31/11 Snail mail notice that i was waitlisted at UIC COM, 1st quartile. I\'ve had enough of this application stuff and am holding an acceptance to my dream school (still occasionally have the urge to call them up though and make sure they haven\'t changed their mind:)) ha but anyway I withdrew from UIC COM today. Fairly easy decision. It\'s a good school but not the place for me. Letting go of Yale is still eating at me. I am in love with Dartmouth but for some reason i haven\'t had the urge to withdraw from yale waiting list yet. we\'ll see....

7/14/11 So everything is arranged. I will be a DMS MS1 in less than a month. Dreams do come true. Aim high and commit..you never know what\'ll happen. Dartmouth has been my top choice for a long time and 3 years later it worked out. I definitely would not want to go through this process again, but it was worth the effort, stress, and sacrifices. It goes to show that life is a journey... where you start is not as important as where you end up and how willing you are to improve and challenge yourself.

Tips for future applicants: (will be updated later)
