Key: Schools are marked complete when I am notified of receipt of committee/LORs or notified of \"complete\" status RS = received secondary SS = sent secondary II = interview invite H = Hold SP = Small-pool I = Interviewed W = Withdrew WL = Waitlist
Date complete is date of notification from school that my file is complete. This will be delayed compared to my secondary submission date as my undergrad sends our committee packet, and I am not sure when they will reach me in their que.
-writing secondaries again now that thesis madness is nearing its end. -completed my thesis! I now have a MS!
Always heard great comments about the school. Philadelphia would also be an excellent location. -emailed update letter -In case I didn\'t get the message the first time, they sent the rejection e-mail twice. Hey, at least I didn\'t get it three times like some other people I know.... (wait.. does that mean two rejections is a double negative and I was accepted??)
-upset that I procrastinated so much with sending this out. its a long secondary, so be prepared, but its not that long if you pace yourself. I like the school, its Jesuit background and location.. hope I didn\'t blow my chances by sending in the secondary last minute.
-pushed it right up until the deadline. jeez. Funny how this was a school going into this cycle I was so amped for. That secondary is really long and fell in with the \"I\'m panicking about my thesis\" secondary pile. But the curriculum and experiences here sound amazing. My dad had a dream of dropping me off here so I felt like I needed to finish it, even though my chances are minuscule at this point. Being a Trojan would be awesome. -rejected. not surprised. I applied late. Though I did think it was a good fit so I shouldn\'t have been so lazy. Was hoping to be part of that last push of interviews, but we are approaching the end of the cycle.
Summary of Experience:
RS - 7/22 -not surprised. I applied very late. I got lazy with this secondary when I started getting burned out late August, early September.
Interested in the patient population and rotation sites. Apparently brand new facilities which I am excited to (hopefully) see. -mailed update letter -uploaded .pdf concerning MS

Love the state of Vermont. Many skiing and cross country track memories. Like the integrated curriculum and early clinical experience. -e-mailed update letter -Small pooled. Not sure if I would have entered the pool or not with the update letter. I hear they appreciate pro-active small poolers so maybe I\'ll send a letter of interest in a month if I don\'t hear anything, since Vermont\'s description has really grown on me. -Rejected this morning. Surprised to see that in the status check, rather than an e-mail, since I was put into the small pool less than a month ago, and usually people hang around there for some time.
Amazing clinical sites/experiences. Love to go here. Close to family & friends. -mailed update/interest letter - e-mailed update concerning MS -The dream ends today. I was expecting the rejection snail mail, since the interview season is nearly done and I haven\'t heard anything all year from them (and they\'re only interviewing for alternate positions at this point). Rough day for this process as my state schools deny me.
Really should have sent this in quicker, since its not a difficult secondary, but wanted to write a good statement as to why I want to go here since I have many reasons and admittedly its my dream/reach/hail mary application. Any employee & LOR love? -mailed update letter -Rejected today. Second day of them beginning to get final decisions out. Oh well. They were my absolute top choice, but I\'m not surprised, considering my stats I knew it was a 1 in a million chance. Still, I hoped my MCAT, research experience, being a former employee there, and an LOR from an attending/faculty member there would have helped maybe get an interview. Not upset though, since I expected this. Time to move on, and I can always apply there for residency and show what they missed out on the first time around :)
delayed sending secondary due to moving and research paper writing. picking up the pace in returning secondaries now. amazing wealth of opportunities due to location, curriculum sounds interesting. sent right after amcas got verified. this secondary was received a day after submitting amcas.
-hold for re-review. some people say this is a rejection, others say they eventually got an interview, someone claims an admissions person told them on the phone the majority of people get the hold status. so basically limbo. -e-mailed update letter -e-mailed update concerning MS -didn\\\'t make it through the February mass rejections. Oh well. Nothing new in this process. Good luck to the rest hoping for GWU.
Summary of Experience:
RS - 7/25, SS - 7/26 awesome school. PI\'s alma mater, so fingers crossed. short secondary. -mailed update letter -closure after not hearing anything for so long. someone I know who\'s clinical faculty told me they\'re surprised i wasn\'t interviewed, but cest le vie.
Have heard nothing but good things about this school. Variety of rotation sites. -mailed update/interest letter. also had DO send an LOR. Hopefully hear back soon. -e-mailed update concerning MS.
-Online supplemental won\'t allow submission until they receive my committee letter from AMCAS. Clicking submit the second that happens.
-Finally able to submit now that they have my letters. I hope the two months difference doesn\'t harm my chances. Would be a great experience there. They open their secondary within an hour of submitting AMCAS, so I had to wait for my committee. We\'ll see.
-Well right on the three week mark got the rejection. Oh well, best of luck to the rest of the candidates. First \"purple heart\" in this process, so now I know its real.
-Nice Jesuit institution. Great location. -Oh well. Second rejection, first in a long time. Hope this isn\'t a harbinger. Too bad, guess Catholic background doesn\'t matter.
LES would be an amazing location -mailed update later -not surprised since they stopped handing out interview invites months ago. was expecting it. nice to have closure.
No essays, no extra information. Secondary takes 5 minutes to fill out. Hope familiarity and LORs help my chances. -mailed update/interest letter -\"Non-Accept\". Well that ends the mystery of Buffalo and their \"random review\" process. They don\'t even contact you about their decision.

Interesting essay prompts. -Entered the small pool tonight. That was a long wait since being complete, ha. Good news from Chicagoland tonight. Seems the vast majority of interviewees go through the small pool, so I\'m hoping it turns out for the best. -Finally rejected at the end of the cycle after swimming in the small pool all year. Guess I couldn\'t tread long enough.
Wouldn\'t New Orleans be awesome? Both the NO Cares and Baton Rouge Lead options are very intriguing. -Was hoping to have the opportunity to see nola but that won\'t be happening. School had some interesting options and my numbers are right in their range. Must not like having low community service hours.

RS - 7/28, SS - 9/25, H - 10/4
got the e-mail saying my primary is being reviewed.
-first test in this process, hoping I make it past the screening and get the secondary.
-*phew* made it past initial screen. Now its on to the secondary.
-I really like how the Inova Campus sounds. Appears to be a tremendous clinical opportunity with close mentorship. I\'ve been meaning to send this in for weeks but had trouble going through another \"why our school essay\", even though there are plenty of why\'s.. I guess it was narrowing them down. Anyway, its in, and hope to hear good news.
- Got the #3 status. So its a hold, but based on last year\'s thread, still in the game for a potential late interview. Wonder if I sent this is in quicker if I could have gotten the #2 status?? No second guessing now. -mailed update letter -well, I\'ve been on the \"futher\" status the whole cycle, and didn\'t get an interview in February so assumed it was a rejection, which was made official today.
-I had a lot of difficulty using their website. Often was locked out or wouldn\'t load. This delayed submitting for the first month. After that, just got lazy after submitting most of my other applications. I shouldn\'t have procrastinated since their curriculum appears dynamic and people with my stats tend to have decent chances here. We\'ll see if this Jesuist institution appreciates a Catholic background. -rejected. too little too late, in terms of sending my update letter. I know they are receptive to them but I sent it during the final week of reviewing applicants, so not surprised I didn\'t make the final cut for interview invites.
-Oh boy... sent this extremely late. I really really want to get into a SUNY so I\'m upset with myself sending this so late, especially since they\'re rolling (unlike some other SUNYs apparently). It was part of the handful of long secondaries that I waited till the end to finish, but life/work/school got really hectic these last two months. We\'ll see what happens.. they are the most \"in-state\" of the SUNYs, but I hear their interview invites are for very late already. -rejected. not surprised, i applied extremely late here. least favorite of the SUNYs anyhow, so not upset.
-I like the description of their curriculum. Seems like a program I would learn well in. The research requirement is also something which I think would be important training for a modern physician. -Procrastinated in sending this, even though the secondary is short due to the word limit, despite there being several \"essays\". Would be cool to go here after getting accepted to PSU undergrad and not attending (yes I know its not the same campus/location.. just a cool/interesting thought) -finally marked complete. Seems about on time for how long they usually take to mark applications complete after submission. -Rejected, same day as my Drexel waitlist. I guess PA sends out letters on Blue Monday.

-have some friends and former roomies who go here. can I get some in-state love? short secondary, essays only given after interview invite -Very upset to have been put on hold here, as I\\\'m in-state, undergrad sends plenty of applicants here, and their \\\"hold\\\" e-mail is quite the non-rejection rejection. Staying positive, and I know this is an uphill process, but that was a disheartening e-mail. -mailed update letter -Wow!! An interview at SUNY!!! Totally unexpected (especially after the hold) and what an awesome Valentine\\\'s Day surprise. Huge opportunity. Time to make the most of it. -Really liked the school. Was very impressed. Hopefully the interviews went well and I impress the adcom as much as the school impressed me. Definitely creeps up to the top spot out of my potential options due to tuition and the experiences available there. Integrated systems based curriculum, early clinical experience, major hospital serving a diverse population across a dozen counties. -I didn\'t expect a rejection. I wasn\'t particularly optimistic for an outright acceptance, was hoping for at least a waitlist, but I didn\'t see a rejection coming after believing this was one of my stronger interview performances and I have ties to the school and area. Definitely a confidence blow. I know am the owner of the med school application straight: pre-interview rejection, acceptance, waitlist, post-interview rejection.

-Great Philly location. Simple secondary, fill out employment and ECs. -Interview invite!!! Very excited and thoroughly surprised after just getting a rejection elsewhere earlier in the week. Definitely got my spirits up. Thanks, Drexel, looking forward to meeting each other. -Loved it. Great interview experience. I really like the curriculum, the support the school has towards its students for community service opportunities, research, and electives. The fourth year \\\"pathways\\\" was unique and interesting, though limited elective time somewhat, but the \\\"pathway\\\" makes up for that. Campus was in a nice area, more of an \\\"outer borough\\\" feel - rotations are mixed in urban and suburban areas but generally I\\\'m excited about them. Simulation, early work in volunteer clinics, and physician offices. \\\"Big/little\\\" program. Really awesome stuff, very friendly staff and students. Now just gotta wait. -mailed update/interest letter -e-mailed update concerning MS -wait listed. feel a bit deflated. definitely was my top choice out of where I\\\'ve interviewed at. I thought the interview went very well and I really like the school. Hoping for the best but realistically, I hear there\'s not much movement, but praying there is.

-want to return this quickly since first set of interviews already happened last week. -first interview invite! first one to ask me to dance. the first one is always special. very excited. -Interview day left a very positive impression. Area reminds me of my undergrad\'s location. PBL seems like an awesome educational opportunity. Fitness center is amazing, but $60/mo... ehhhhhh. Familiar with some rotation locations, others seemed a little small. -they just received my DO LOR, so status changed to decision made and will receive a letter in 30 days. I\'m assuming they already made a decision then if the status changed the same day they received my letter. 11/11 -Acceptance!! Takes the sting out of the sting out of the terrible interview yesterday at NYCOM. Someone out there has a favorable opinion of me. Decisions decisions to come. -Withdrew after acceptance to NYCOM. I preferred NYCOM or CCOM due to their rotations, longer standing reputation in the medical community, and research opportunities.

Have some friends and alma matter here. Decently close to home. -mailed update letter -Interview invite!!! Totally surprised! I had given up hope on hearing anything new from schools I didn\'t interview at already. Very excited, and thankful for the opportunity to interview at a school near home. -awesome anatomy lab, friendly students (runs against the typical perception people speak of, of it being hyper-competitive), faculty seemed very open. Not sure how I feel about my interview performance. Adcom told us it would be \"conversational\" and I felt it was more of a read through of the primary application and a Q&A, which is fine, but tough to demonstrate one\'s personality and I had lack of sleep due to a cold so I was a bit fatigued. Cool campus and rotation sites, student clinic in spanish harlem. Would be a wonderful opportunity to return near home. Now the long wait until May. -ACCEPTED!! Didn\'t expect this at all!

-Easiest secondary. Sent off once I got it. No essay questions. Fingers crossed for an interview - great program, great location. -Inteview!! Sunny Florida. Great news. -First acceptance!! Woohoo. Pretty sweet. Major relief and milestone in this process. Thought I didn\'t do well on the interview, but the facilities and simulation technology seemed very modern and impressive. Very cool feeling. -Withdrew after NYCOM acceptance. Nova was my first attended interview and acceptance so it will always have a special place for me. Rural rotations and cost of attendance wasn\'t the right fit, and apparently they\'re having issues with their curriculum - otherwise a good school and thankful for the opportunity they gave me.

-Great school and strong reputation.
-Third invite!!! Getting much love this week. Pumped; this is a well known DO program. -Attended interview. Great experience. I think it was my best interview so far. Excellent clinical rotation sites. Not thrilled with the quarter system and how intense it seems compared to the schedule of other schools, but what school won\'t be intense? Liked the campus and construction of new facilities going on. Everyone seemed very positive and willing to talk. Strong reputation in the area. Some opportunities for research and community activities. -Acceptance letter came today (11/2)!! Dated 10/22. Awesome. Noticed the portal changed, but wanted to make sure it wasn\'t a cruel joke. Tough decisions to come, but where I\'ve been to so far, CCOM probably holds my top spot due to their rotations. -Really tough to have withdrawn from here. Very hard decision between CCOM and NYCOM. CCOM is very well known, one of the oldest osteopathic medical schools and important to the profession\'s history. However, discipline based curriculum, all lecture (none recorded), lack of simulation and had trouble listing pros other than their rotation sites. School with a strong reputation and really enjoyed my interview day there.

-great affiliates/rotation sites. close by. got the secondary after labor day (as they said they would do). didn\'t send this in ahead of time like some people on SDN apparently did, following nycom\'s instructions to the letter since this is definitely up there for me. -Interview Invite!! Unexpected considering I haven\'t submitted the supplemental yet. -Finally sent in the supplemental. Important school to me so wanted to write everything I needed to, properly and well. Also been traveling. Very excited, definitely high on my list. Wanted to submit quicker, but busy month with new job and traveling.. hope they don\'t think I\'m disinterested. My essay hopefully demonstrates I am. - What a nightmare of an interview. I don\'t think an interview could have started or ended so poorly. Shame too because I really like the school, I\'d love to go here. Keypoints that stood out for me were the anatomy and OMM labs, simulation rooms and robot, great rotations in the NYC metropolitan area. Supposedly most interviewees get in.. we\'ll see. -Ahhhh!!! Accepted!!! I get the chance to stay in New York!! One of my top picks going into this year. I thought (no.. more like I know) I bombed the interview after getting grilled so hard, but this is great news. Pleasant surprise. That suspense of not feel confident about the outcome made this more exciting and rewarding. Probably going to start withdrawing from some out of state schools.
