Brief Profile:
Graduated with a BSc Honours in Environment: Biodiversity & Conservation. The \'Honours\' is not a cum laude distinction; it does however mean I completed courses in my major with a CGPA of over 3.3, and I conducted two semester\'s worth of independent laboratory research.
Next, I decided to study the Control of Infectious Diseases in London. It\'s a very interdisciplinary epidemiology, public health, infectious disease program with a really diverse staff and student profile, and many opportunities to do cool things. Like right now, I\'m in Moscow for the summer, interning at the World Health Organization and writing my thesis on MDR-TB transmission.
It should be noted that I attended DePaul University for my first year, and left the school with a quarter\'s worth of experience as a Biology research assistant and a CGPA of 3.73
ECs: Social Representative for my grad program: there are two of us (for 63 students) and we plan events for our group of students
McGill Cycling Team: team rider, practiced and rode with the team
Sustainable McGill Project: group member. I attended weekly meetings and was the brains/planner of a really cool fundraiser held at a tiki bar. Unfortunately, we only made 300 dollars. Shame.
Summer Intern at an Ecosystem Education/Awareness camp, where I taught kids about conservation and led hikes along the Appalachian Trail
Worked as a swim instructor for two consecutive summers (kids ages 3- 12)
Worked at a neurology office as a receptionist for one summer
Briefly volunteered on the Oncology floor of Children\'s Hospital the summer for I started university Research Experience: 3 semesters in primate conservation, studying gastrointestinal parasite infection (lab based)
