    Summary of Application Experience

I applied pretty broadly. I honestly don\'t know which schools are \"within my reach,\" except for a few famous ones that I just assume are out of reach i.e. columbia, stanford, ucsf. Anyways, I view all MD programs as relative equals b/c it\'s a standard education, MD is MD! The way it was explained to me: if you do well at any school, you can be any type of doctor you want, and if you\'re dedicated enough, you\'ll be a great one!

    Matriculating at UCI zot zot!

My preference for schools works as follows:
    1. location (want CA schools badly, then NYC, then Boston, then...well if no luck with those I\'ll grudgingly take anything, applied mostly to major metropolitan areas for schools outside of CA)
    2. student culture (won\'t know until I visit the school for interviews) - need to be chill and enjoying themselves!
    3. Curriculum - P/F, flexibility
    4. hospitals and breadth of clinical experience provided
    5. Unique research opportunities, most schools offer this, but some schools have better resources than others

So far I\'m happy with how interviews have been going. Got interviews for 4 CA schools, which I was extremely pleased about .

We\'ll see where i end up!

hope this profile is useful, btw :)
