Brief Profile:
Well I am a non traditional student, turning 30 in March! AAAAHHHHH!!! I became a Licensed Massage Practitioner in 2003 and worked in the field doing injury treatment therapy for 3 years. I felt it was time to increase my knowledge base about the body so went back to school. I worked from the age of 18 until I became a massage practitioner as a Surgical Assistant for a Foot and Ankle surgeon, basically running the surgical suite and also clinical side of things as his medical assistant. I had great opportunities to shadow and talk to many different types of physicians and with my background as an LMP and with the many different styles of medicine I saw practiced, I knew I wanted to go the Osteopathic Medicine route, so that is all I applied for!

Summary of Application Experience
Well I decided to apply DO like I said, so I actually spread my seeds pretty wide, applied to 19 schools! OUCH!! I didn\\\'t realize how the process would go or how it would all work out for me. After applying it took FOREVER for AACOMAS to verify me and get me out into the schools. I ended up getting secondaries from every school, except WVSOM, they don\\\'t make you do a secondary unless they invite for interview. I decided to secondary only about 8 schools cause lets be honest, this process is EXPENSIVE!

So I felt like a great candidate, but I could not speak for the interview so it was a mess, Ah well, Waitlisted isn\'t bad considering.

I was applying to this school as a safeguard, thought it would be the easy school to get into, little did I know I would love this school!!!
