1 year of volunteering in an Emergency Room Worked for 1 year in a molecular neuroscience lab. No publications. Worked for 1 year in an infectious disease, BSL-3, select agent lab. The lab studied vaccine strategies for bio-terroism agents. No publications. Shadowed an Infectious disease M.D.for 16 hours Shadowed a Family practice M.D. for 16 hours Shadowed a Urgent Care D.O. for 24 hours Helped coach a special olympics soccer team for one summer I also put my skydiving experience on my application so the admissions committees would hopefully remember me. I only applied to osteopathic medical schools because my wife is a pharmacy student at Western University and I thought I would have a better chance at Western University if I could demonstrate a better commitment to osteopathic medicine. Hopefully that will be true.
