Brief Profile:
(Applied very late in the cycle) Completed secondary around Nov-Dec, 2009. Low MCAT, \"Uncharacteristic\" dip in GPA this year (2009).
Brief Profile:
Clinical: Shadow neurologists/residents and attend NeuroRounds at RRUMC - 1.5 years Clinical research associate/volunteer at RRUMC ER - 1.5 years EMT ER Internship - 12 hours (but very meaningful to me esp. after going through my first patient death under my care, CPR performed)
Research: Departmental biomedical research, 2 scholarships, 2 abstracts, presentations, no-pub - 2 years Pilot study for departmental new laboratory course, poster presentation - 1 quarter
Community Volunteer/Leadership: Client navigator/educator for free mobile clinics with medical students/nurses in underserved areas - 2 years Community outreach/advocate on stroke - 1.5 years Premed-organization, secretary/birthday chair/Advisor - 2 years ECs/leadership: Assistant scoutmaster/Unit leader/Eagle Scout - 13+ years Wushu, national competitions (Performance/Martial Art) - 8+ years
MISC (<1 year involvement): Residential Hall EVP Student Committee on Ethics and Honor Chemistry tutor EMT Certification, will work full-time after graduation
Applied as disadvantaged both medically and financially. Anyway, I am considering to reapply with much stronger MCAT and stronger GPA finish (3.7 ==> 3.5 in the last 4 quarters)...there is always hope. Who knows?
