i seem to have the opposite problem of most CA applicants -- nobody outside of CA wants me but the UCs do? my goal going in was to stay in CA, so it\'s definitely not a problem i\'m complaining about...just interesting.
i will update this more once my cycle comes to a definitive end.
Summary of Experience:
withdrawing -- i think there was a slight issue of fit for me. the school itself was amazing and the facilities were nice. i got the impression that ohsu and portland in general isn\'t very diverse. the first school that didn\'t talk about how their board scores are above average, which i don\'t care so much about but i think is reflective of the more lax feeling (both good and bad) i got from the students. one interviewer was great, the other made a big deal about whether i\'d attend over my uc acceptance. (\"don\'t all californians want to stay in ca?\") the fact that it\'s $$$ kind of sealed the deal for me.
Summary of Experience:
withdrawing -- the school was lovely but i got a very research-heavy vibe from pitt and i don\'t like the idea of a scholarly project. i also can\'t see myself being happy in pittsburgh, or asking my so to uproot his life/career when i have such great options in CA.
