I didn't do very well in my premed classes at Princeton, but was very involved otherwise--head of outdoor club, newspaper editor, etc. Minored in African American studies and won a thesis prize.

Summary of Application Experience
I think my MCATs really opened a ton of doors for me--I also had a 4.0 average in my postbac work. I decided on UW for cost and personal reasons--plus it's a grat school. It just goes to show, though--when I was graduating from college, no one thought I could have gone to med school anywhere, much less the US News Top Ten! But buckling down for a couple of years really paid off. I was really lucky (and waitlists do work-just keep sending letters every three weeks!)
