Summary of Experience:
Denied. Not even a status update email. Harsh. Oh well, along the same lines as Duke I figured my lack of research experience wouldn\'t do me any favours when applying here.
Summary of Experience:
Wow! I wasn\'t expecting an interview here. I hadn\'t heard a peep since I submitted their secondary in July.
Update: I withdrew my interview. I couldn\'t genuinely see myself going here over U of L unless I got some major scholarships, and since I\'m not interviewing until February, I don\'t see that happening. Hopefully my spot goes to someone who really wants it.
Summary of Experience:
Invited for OOS interview, but I can\'t see myself going here over U of L, so hopefully my spot goes to someone who really wants it.
Summary of Experience:
The interview day was laid back. I had an afternoon interview, so I arrived in time for the talk with admissions and financial aid, lunch, and the campus tour. The campus tour wasn\'t great, but that also may have been because it\'s a huge campus, so it took forever. I really liked the actual interview. It was very conversational, but I got to hit all of the high points of my application. The only things I really dislike about this school are the price tag, and that acceptances go out in batches.
Update: 10/19. After some server issues, this round of acceptances has been sent out. No status updates for me... not even that my file was reviewed. Next acceptance date is December 15, so I\'m holding out hope that I\'ll hear something then.
Update: 10/21 First post-interview rejection. I noticed a status update and logged in expecting to see that my file was reviewed, and... rejection! Ouch! You win some, you lose some. The OOS cost was pretty steep for me to seriously consider going here over U of L without major financial aid, so I suppose it worked out.
Summary of Experience:
I really liked the interview process here. It was very laid back, plenty of opportunity for questions, and everyone was great. The campus tour wasn\'t planned out very well, though. The tour guides for my group just kind of took you wherever they felt like. We got to go to the Minimally Invasive Surgery lab, though, which looked incredible. UK is definitely one of my top choices.
Update: 10/18. Application put on hold, should be reviewed again in December. It\'s a long wait, but hoping to hear good news when the time comes.
Update: 12/19. Application was rereviewed and put back on hold. Got my Fall grades back and sent them a letter of interest/update letting them know why I would be a good fit. Hopefully something comes of it, since I would really, really like to go here.
Update: Waitlisted, but not expecting to get off the waitlist.
Summary of Experience:
Update: Not surprised about the waitlist. The person whom I spoke with at the interview day said theywaitlist like 95% of OOS applicants until March, then they start letting people in.
Only two other people interviewing when I was there, and that seems like the norm for this school. The students who gave the campus tour were third year students, so they talked a lot about rotations as opposed to the pre-clinical years. Overall it was a good experience, but it\'s not my top choice.
Summary of Experience:
Really impressed with the school. Interviews were very laid back. Hoping to hear good news come October 15!
Update: Holy crap! Are you serious? I... I... I\'ve been accepted to medical school. U of L is one of my top choices, and I\'d definitely be happy going here! So excited!
