Brief Profile:
undergrad microbiology, grad heatlhcare admin, working exp as a nurse aid, microbiologist, data mgr, insurance sales, emt-b. Lots vteer including HIV counselor, big brother in HIV division, reading tutor for inmates. My advice, if you interview well, make sure your MCAT is awesome. Mine hurt me, I was always waitlisted or accepted and every time it was waitlist my MCAT had a lot to do with it.

Summary of Application Experience
You may think your stats won't get you in, and it's true, if they're below avg you have to fight against that. But, show effort and determination throughout the app process...Make sure your paper apps are as perfect as possible. Keep updating the schools you interview at every 2-3 wks with interest letters, work updates, recc letters, and phone calls, it really helps. I had a low MCAT and got into UNC School of Medicine where the avg. mcat is almost 32 and I'm not a URM. If you want it bad enough you can make it happen. And, it's not a bad idea to hire a pre-med adviser/consultant, I did (it's expensive but the money it saved me on in-state tuition was worth it). Good luck!
