Brief Profile:
2 industrial summer internships 2 years 2 academic labs, no pubs (still bitter) 5 months research tech 1 summer ER volunteer 4 semesters tutoring semester abroad
i have a low gpa mostly due to emotional problems during undergrad. my gpa is also brought down by cc classes i took in high school. i spent about half of undergrad depressed because of a really bad on/off relationship which really affected my grades due to lack of sleep, general apathy for everything. not trying to make excuses, just offering an explanation. looking back, im not sure how i didn't fail because i was that distracted/apathetic. it also didn't help that i took too many classes in order to study abroad + graduate in 4 years with 2 degrees.
most of my time outside of class was spent in lab...really tried getting that publication, but you know how research goes. at one point i was sure i was going to apply to phd programs, so i chose lab work over clinical experiences. i've never done anything just because it 'looks good' for grad or med school. i realize now that tutoring probably wasn't the best extracurricular activity, but i really enjoy teaching and helping poor, underprivileged kids.
hoping for the best, but prepared to apply again next year.
