Update 8.23.10-
I am now a member of the Mayo Medical School class of 2014. Though the process was long and filled with anxiety, it was well worth going out on a limb and applying places that were a bit of a stretch. Because I took that risk I am now in the PERFECT place for me, going to school essentially for free, and have opportunities that I never dreamed of before coming to Minnesota.
For anyone reading this I have just one piece of advice: be yourself on the interview trail and don\'t be afraid of failure. When I was applying many people tried to convince me not to \"waste my time\" on some of the \"bigger name schools.\" Were they right? To an extent, sure, but I now have no regrets, had the chance to interview at two of the biggest names out there (without being rejected outright I might add), and am now going to Mayo.
