Summary of Application Experience
Apply as early as possible! That's why I was placed on the Alternate List and AZCOM and wasn't able to apply to as many schools as possible. If you are really interested in a school, try to develop contacts by visiting the campus, current medical students, emailing the ADCOM members on your interview committee, etc. Make sure to follow up with them and sell to them that their institution is the only school you want to attend. I got the business card of the dean and the retired dean, who was on my interview committee and kept in touch with them, expressing my interest, etc. You have to separate yourself from the 1000s of other applicants, as many of you know applying to medical school is like shooting in the dark. Good luck!
