Brief Profile:
Re-applicant. I wasn't verified until late September last cycle. I applied to 39 schools, got 3 interviews, 2 waitlists (and 1 low-priority waitlist), still hoping... I transferred several times in undergrad, I got married in the middle, and I didn't attend a 'name' school. I had a childhood illness which contributed to my motivation for med school. Three summers volunteering at a camp for children with cancer and other diseases (where I was a camper for 8 years). One summer of shadowing 4 different doctors full time. Volunteering with child in coma. Mentoring and tutoring for 'at-risk' teens. Captain/coach of championship winning football teams. Currently shadowing for a few hours every couple weeks.
