Summary of Application Experience
7/2/09 - took MCAT; Results a month later...the score distribution is so redonkulously weird. Lawls. I hate you... mr. passage on \"intelligent\" genes in verbal and silly fluid physics stuff trolling all over the computer screen. And...writing essays on the social dynamics of MMORPG guilds for the win.
7/06/09 - Transcript request sent.
7/07/09 - Transcript received by AMCAS. Either Cal is very fast or I caught them at the right time. Working on final drafts of PS.
7/14/09 - Primary sent in. I only put in a few schools at the moment while they verify my application. I will add more schools after my MCAT score comes out.
8/7/09 - Verified.
8/8/09 - Working on secondaries.
08/08 - 09/09 - Complete around end of Aug to mid September
10/27/09 - first interview invite from Case; my top choice for OOS
12/??/09 - invite to UCSD; top choice... I can\'t believe it.
01/08/10 - ACCEPTED to Case Western. Best post-New-Year\'s-Day\'s present ever? lol
04/??/10 - WAITLISTED by UCSD. Balls.
??/??/10 - Rejected by UCSD; Going to Case!!
Thoughts at the end of the cycle: Despite only 2 interviews during the cycle, those schools were basically my top choices from Day 1 when I started the AMCAS. The student body at Case is so amazingly friendly and chill, but fiercely hard-working at the same time. Off to the Cleve, the land of schizo weather, under-served populations, and redonkulous city-planning.
Biggest regrets: 1. not applying early 2. not setting aside several extra weeks for unforeseen circumstances (late LORs, silly transcript mailing errors, etc.) 3. Not figuring out which schools actually fit me
Summary of Experience:
Definitely my top choice. Fantastic school with a student body that studies hard and plays hard. I\'d love to be part of the pioneering class with the new curriculum.
