Summary of Application Experience
I wanted to add this now that this hellish process is coming to a close, just to give people who are sitting around nervous about their chances some hope.
Really low GPA cuz I took the hardest possible classes I could at school. I also retook the MCAT and scored much much lower the second time, but that was because I had an emergency in the family the week before that really rattled my focus. Long story short, the interviews are super important. You need to make sure that you project a confident and warm demeanor, but you also need to make sure that you can defend any mistakes or missteps on your file. Also make sure you genuinely enjoy the things that you've done in school and can talk about them in great detail. Lastly, I think that letters of recommendation play a much bigger role than most people think. The only reason I feel I even got any interviews is because my recommenders really put their neck out for me (all of my interviewers commented on how good my rec letters were). In the end, it only takes one acceptance to be a doctor =).
