Summary of Application Experience
I'm so late submitting my secondaries. First set of secondaries have been sent in on Oct. 14, 2008. It's because one of my main refs took 6 months to submit her reference, after much cajoling and calling, she finally submitted it. Hopefully this does not destroy my chances, but we will have to see I guess.
Updates: Oct 21, 2008 - Well, I've completed 10 secondaries, paid for them, sent LORs and mailed everything. God speed little apps... let's hope I get something :| Nov 21, 2008 - Well, I received and sent in the EVMS and VCU secondaries. I also withdrew from Jefferson and Penn State because I couldn't scrounge up the proper LORs for them. I still haven't heard from Alabama. I'll call them next week to see what's up. Phew, all done with those secondaries! What a process... it's exhausting!! Now to wait... Dec. 17, 2008 - Not heard anything in a long while now. I have been put on pre-interview hold at GWU. Another rejection, I guess. VCU also posted on their site that they have no more interview positions available. So that's out. I was also snail-mailed a rejection to the MSTP program at AECOM. I expected this, but figured I'd apply anyway, because I did want to do some research during medical school. Sigh... here's hoping for EVMS or UVM? Those are definitely up there in terms of top choices. I doubt anything will come of this now, though. I think I may ahve been far too late in the application cycle. A word of warning to others! I think I wasted a lot of money the last few months :|
