Brief Profile:
Research (summer 2006 to present) -Engineering and Physical Sciences Fellowship -Designing porous tissue engineering scaffolds made of fibers with diameters in the nano-micrometer range -Analyzing the morphology, viability, and migration of cells cultured on these scaffolds -Improving cell adhesion to scaffolds by adding ECM proteins, altering scaffold morphology/mechanical properties, integrating particles for controlled drug release, and adding DNA vectors to the scaffold
I\'m also currently writing a paper as first author that will be published in a few months.
Volunteering -Tau Beta Pi (engineering honor society) 100 hours -U of Michigan hospital 100 hours
Other Medical experience - Worked as a surgical assistant for my dad for 2 summers in high school. >1200 hours
Other Extracurricular Activities -Michigan Marching Band -Tutoring a variety of subjects including biology, math, physics, and computer programming.

Summary of Application Experience
I'm a little bit behind on my secondaries because I broke my arm. =/
11/19 I just finished UIC as my last application. I currently have 2 interviews: one at Northwestern and one at Columbia.
1/11 I am currently interviewing at Emory and will be going to Northwestern on 1/14
I have a Duke MD only interview on February 13, and I have a WashU MD only interview that I have yet to schedule.
I received an MD only interview offer from University of Chicago, but I turned it down.
5/1
I was accepted to Northwestern's MSTP, which is awesome!
I'm still waitlisted at WashU and Emory for MD only. I got accepted at UIC for MD/PhD but withdrew for Northwestern
