    Definitely try to apply early! Write your personal statement in the spring to give yourself time to edit. Also, it is a good idea to make a list of your extracurricular activities so that AMCAS is easier to fill out when it becomes available. Give your recommenders lots of time to write letters for you; remember to give them pre-addressed, stamped envelopes.

    Many applicants write thank you notes/cards to their interviewers after their interview; this is a nice thing to do but not necessary. Actually, the majority of my acceptances were from schools I forgot to write thank you notes to.
