Summary of Application Experience
I'm your typical story of a Psychology major graduate that decided 1 month after graduating she wanted to be a doctor and had to go back and start all over again. Meanwhile, I was working full time for a market research company that graciously allowed me to take class and make up work late. The process has been a total whirl-wind but the pre-med stuff is pretty much over now - still taking Biochem in the next two quarters. I took the MCAT in July, decided it was worth having the extra month to cram - thank GOD I did. Sent in my AMCAS the day my 32 was posted - still waiting to be reviewed. Its been about 3 weeks now. Working on secondaries - I have about nine now. Have 4 letters of rec, 2 from psych professors (one honors advisor and one very close statistics professor), 1 from a VP/mentor at my company, and 1 from the internist I shadowed for two weeks. I'm a little paranoid that I don't have an science (BCP) letters - I didn't get close to any teachers since I was working so much and didn't do the office hours thing. I figured I would go with people who really knew me and my work ethic and character vs asking a teacher who didn't know me and would send a completely generic letter.
