    AMCAS
    5/26/08 - AMCAS begun.
    6/8/08 - Returned from abroad.
    7/1/08 - University transcript received.
    7/10/08 - Re-took MCAT.
    7/15/08 - AMCAS Letters received.
    8/5/08 - Finally submitted AMCAS.
    8/11/08 - I got my new MCAT score!!! Improved 3 pts...used to be 30S, VR8/PS11/BS11.
8/26/08 - AMCAS verified! Now is the time to really hit those secondaries...

    SECONDARIES
9/16/08 - Still working on secondaries, about to send Northwestern\'s. I called Stanford today and they said they sent me the secondary on 8/28- but I never got it! I finally received an email from them today.
9/26/08 - Ready to submit BU\'s secondary, but their website is STILL down! Argh!
10/10/08 - Finished a HUGE chunk of my secondaries...just wish this burst of momentum had come last month! I feel like I\'m gambling with such late secondary submissions...
10/11/08 - Only one secondary left! Unless I get a secondary from UCSF (I hope I do)...

    INTERVIEWS/REJECTIONS
11/15/08 - Still haven\'t heard from most schools. At this point, I\'m deciding to withdraw from Rosalind Franklin. I just wish my first response from a school hadn\'t been a rejection :(

11/17/08 - Starting to get antsy...needing a morale booster (aka an interview)!!!

12/1/08 - 5 rejections, 1 deferral, and no interviews- this does not look promising at all.

12/4/08 - Wondering why I haven\'t heard from certain schools by now...and add another hold to the list. Of course, now I figured out that Rosalind Franklin had more research opportunities than I thought, but their website was so frustrating to navigate that I didn\'t figure it out until now. However I also figured out that it\'s further from Chicago than I\'d like to be, so I guess it\'s OK that I withdrew. I\'m also slightly regretting not applying to Case/CCLCM, since I think I would have loved that program. Maybe if I don\'t get any interviews/acceptances this cycle, I\'ll add them in next time!

12/15/08 - Finally, an interview!!! Hallelujah!

1/8/09 - Haven\'t heard anything recently. I just sent updates to all of the schools I still haven\'t heard from (except Stanford, since they don\'t accept updates pre-interview).

1/9/09 - WOW, that update must have worked for Cornell- I got an interview invite less than 24 hours after I sent it!!!!! I can\'t wait!!!!!
    -----
1/28/09 - Cornell Interview - I LOVED everything about the school- the curriculum, beautiful classrooms and buildings, closeness and attitude of the students, and the amazing location! My interviews were pretty relaxed- the second one much more so than the first one. This is a top choice school for sure!
    -----
2/16/09 - UIC Interview (Chicago Campus) - I was surprisingly very pleased with everything UIC has to offer. They recently updated their curriculum (3 years ago) and teach clinical skills really well, to the point where attendings like to have UIC students rather than others from the area. I could really see myself here :)
    -----
2/18/09 - Wow, another invite- and I thought I was done for the cycle!

2/19/09 - UIC Status Page changed to \'A final decision was made on your application on 02-19-09. Please allow two-weeks to receive the correspondence in the mail. If you do not receive this correspondence in two-weeks, please contact the Admissions Office. No decision will be given over the telephone.\' with an \'Additional Correspondence\' tab on the upper right...after looking obsessively on the SDN thread, I\'m pretty sure that having both means I\'m (almost positively) accepted! Now I just need to get my Criminal Background Check email, and then I will be absolutely sure!

2/23/09 - CBC email this morning!!! Yay!

2/27/09 - A bittersweet day it has been. Around 12 pm, SDNers were reporting several acceptances from Cornell...and I received no such email. :( I\'m really hoping to be on the waitlist! In other news, I finally received my official acceptance packet from UIC- crossing my fingers to get placed on the Chicago campus!!!

3/9/09 - VERY relieved to find out that I can still be accepted to Cornell! I will be on this waitlist until August 20 if I have to be!!!
    -----
3/16/09 - Loyola Interview - I really enjoyed interviewing here. The school obviously places a lot of emphasis on really caring for their students, and it would be a great learning environment. The facilities are brand-new, and I think I\'d be well-suited to the block curriculum. Hoping for good news on this one!
    -----
3/20/09 - Where I stand right now...I am about to write/send a letter of intent to Cornell and a petition letter to UIC for them to switch me to the Chicago track. Will hear from Loyola in about 10 days, and the only school I could still possibly interview at is Stanford (which was actually my first choice at the beginning of this process). I am slightly hesitant about sending the LOI to Cornell without first receiving the Stanford rejection...I wish this process could be more efficient!!

4/5/09 - I finally received my Stanford rejection in the mail last Friday (probably the best-worded rejection I\'ve received) and my Loyola alternate list letter yesterday. Now I can write my LOIntent to Cornell without feeling hindered, and send my petition letter to UIC. Unfortunately, I have no idea where I\'m going to end up next fall, between these two waitlists and the possibility of petitioning into the UIC Chicago campus after May 15. Time to play yet more of the waiting game...

4/27/09 - Almost done receiving my post-secondary rejections...I\'m not expecting anything from Rush anytime soon, since I\'ve heard that they sometimes send rejections in September. Way to care about your applicants! In other news, I sent my LOI to Cornell and petition letter to UIC last Friday. Let\'s hope it does something to change my fate!

4/28/09 - I spoke too soon- I\'ve finally received all of the post-secondary decisions. Now it\'s really just a matter of waiting until May 15.

5/8/09 - I just got an \'Are you still interested?\' email from Cornell! I really hope this leads to an acceptance next week!!!

5/18/09 - This is downright depressing- I know people have been accepted off the waitlist by now, and I haven\'t heard anything :( Guess I\'m going to have to wait another 2 weeks...

5/26/09 - Just got a call from Dr. Muraskas at Loyola!! Now I\'m going to have to make a decision...go to Loyola and forgo the possibility of going to UIC-Chicago, or stay with my placement at UIC-Urbana/Rockford and hope they place me in Chicago...

5/29/09 - Officially withdrew from UIC. I\'m not waiting around, and Loyola will be fantastic for me in so many ways! Almost done with this process...either I\'ll get off Cornell\'s waitlist, or matriculate at Loyola on July 27!

6/3/09 - I just received a call from Ms. Montano, and I\'m accepted at Cornell!!! I am so, so happy this process worked out even with a late application, and I can still attend my top choice school. And thanks for reading- I\'m so glad the med school admissions process is over!
