Summary of Application Experience
I applied really late, unprepared, with few LORs, and mediocre GPA/MCAT in 2007. Since then I have obtained my Masters in Medical Sciences with a GPA of 3.8, I have gotten 4 new letters of recommendation for a total of 5 in a committee packet, I have had an awesome volunteer experience in a children's hospital (want to go into pediatrics now) and have been involved in student government and tutoring.
I really hope someone will let me in this time :-/
5-27-09: I am very happy with how things went this season...I have been accepted at two excellent schools and got plenty of interviews. I think the most important part of my application were my letters of recommendation (which some of the admissions committee member's read excerpts to me during my interviews) and maybe my stronger graduate GPA from my SMP. But in the end, that's just a guess.
To whomever might read this in the future: Keep working hard, keep up the hope, and one day things will fall in place.
