Summary of Application Experience
7/4/08 Finishing up the Work/Activities section of AMCAS and cutting out ~200 characters from my PS because it's too long :(
7/10/08 Finally submitted! Can't wait to get verified.
8/4/08 AMCAS application verified!
8/4/08 AMCAS received Letters of Evaluation
9/16/08 Completed at all schools except Tufts, Temple, and Wake Forest before August was over, just can't remember the dates!
10/13/08 Anxiously awaiting to hear back from schools. Crossing my fingers for some good news (acceptances preferred, wait lists accepted :-P). I especially can't wait to hear back from my top choices! I hope they liked me!!
10/14/08 Actually called the schools I'm waiting to hear back from and they told me no decision had been made yet on my application (meaning my file hadn't yet been sent to committee).
10/22/08 Three weeks after my interview I saw that my application status had changed to 'Decision Made.' Completely freaked out! Never got a call, so I was depressed for a while, but got the acceptance package three days later on 10/25/08.
10/30/08 Withdrew from Albany (canceled interview on 10/28/08) - saw no need to spend the money and time to drive up there. I was also rejected from their BS/MD program back in high school after I interviewed (which was the best thing that ever happened to me, but that's not the point), so I dislike them. NYMC withdrawal is next (maybe even Drexel). I don't have high hopes for Downstate, but I'll keep my app their just in case.
10/31/08 I got a better present on Halloween than just candy... an acceptance letter from SUNY Stony Brook!! I'm freaking out, I am so soo fortunate!
I am so incredibly lucky. First NYU, then SUNY Upstate, and now SUNY Stony Brook. I can't believe it. Who do I thank for this??
