Summary of Application Experience
I am trying to narrow down a list of 20-30 schools I will apply to. Remember that I am a non-trad applicant so I am limited in some respects because I may not meet the requirements of each school, e.g. I do not have one year of Biology labs for UCI.
4/18/08: Took MCAT. Scored 36,38,38,36 on AAMC 7,8,9,10 respectively but real thing was harder. Praying for 34+.
5/9/08: 75% done with PS, still need 3 of 3 LORs sent in to my letter service, need transcripts sent to AMCAS, need to work on final list of schools.
5/18/08: Finished with most of my 'Coursework' in AMCAS. 90% done with PS, gotta get some people to read it
5/20/08: Got MCAT scores back. Scored a 34O. A little disappointed but I guess that's an OK score. Wanted to do a little better to make up for my GPA but this will have to do.
5/29/08: PS pretty much done. All my transcript requests have been submitted. 2 of 3 LOR writers are 'working' on the letter. Still need to fill out work/activities section of AMCAS.
5/31/08: AMCAS got my transcript from UCI.
6/12/08: All 4 transcripts have been received by AMCAS! Only one person has given me feedback on my PS. I've filled in my work/activities section but not the 'details' part yet.
6/29/08: Submitted to AMCAS. Apparently, they probably labeled one of my transcripts wrongly. The one from UCI Extension was probably labeled with plain old UCI and they are still waiting on that one. Gotta call them on Monday.
7/2/08: Just like I thought, AMCAS messed up and labeled one of my transcripts wrong. They fixed it and now I am waiting for my application to be verified. I think 1 LOR is almost in. I am talking to one of my writers on Sunday and the other one on Monday. Hopefully they will all make it in on time.
7/23/08: Finally my application is verified. Now waiting on two LORs before sending out secondaries. Gonna start working on secondaries on Wednesday.
8/7/08: 2 of 3 LORs are in. Waiting on the last one. It should be done by 8/11
8/18/08: Last LOR came in. Complete at VCU on 8/20. Waiting on more secondaries and adding more schools. Need to check the LOR requirements for more mid tier schools so I can add them.
