Summary of Application Experience
I had applied to all Texas schools and several Osteopathic med-schools. This was pretty late in the cycle (September) since I had just taken the MCAT in Sept 2007. So I do think this was really very late for the Texas schools since their app-deadline is October 1st! This was likely the chief reason I did not get any interviews there -- applied too late. However, I had received all my DO-interviews by the end of January, and chose not to attend some interviews because I got into the top two DO-schools of my choice: WesternU and KCUMB. So my final decision was to go to WU, as it was in CA, and that's where I'd rather be. My best advise to all: apply early, MAKE SURE YOU SEND A LETTER OF INTEREST to the schools you prefer! Sending a letter really helps. Good luck to everyone out there, and keep up the good work! =).
