    Summary of Application Experience

*****Some of this information will be omitted until 05/15, or until schools give me either a rejection or an acceptance.

    Extracurricular Activities:

    Personal Statement:

    Letters of Evaluation:

    +Professors:
    -Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Professor.
-Applied Analysis Professor (A Math, Chemistry and Physics bridging course - primarily Math)
    -Music Theory Professor
**Each of these professors instructed course that I took during my final semester

    +External Letters
    -Nursing colleague from the ED
-MD Clinical Director of the ED in which I work. It is my belief that this letter was probably the strongest.

+Late Letters: The following letters I submitted after my application was already complete to most schools
-MD from the ED in which I have worked with frequently. He volunteered to write me a letter after a particularly busy day at work, and I couldn't refuse such an offer!

    Timeline:

    Before 05/12/12:
-Spent >3months studying for the MCAT. I took every AAMC practice test once.
-All letters of evaluation were submitted by 06/01/12
-Committee Letter Meeting attended during the middle of May
-I did not pre-write ANY secondary application essays.

05/12/12 MCAT taken. Looking forward to a month of overwhelming self-doubt and crippling fear of a poor score. Gonna have to hit the gym every day to compensate.
05/13/12 Began drafting a personal statement...mainly to pass the time, and take my mind off of the MCAT.
06/12/12 MCAT scores received. 32R! Almost fist-pumped my computer into the wall. I feel like I just scored a playoff-clinching touchdown in overtime! Time to start working on AMCAS!
06/29/12 Submitted AMCAS. I applaud myself for what I consider to be submitting "early". I later log on to SDN and find out that it's officially "late in the cycle" and become worried. More waiting ensues.
07/06/12 BU sends me secondary? I'm very confused. I send them an idiotic message relaying this confusion. They send me a message telling me to Relax (more eloquently, of course). Three days later, GW sends me a secondary.
08/03/12 AMCAS finally verified. Back to work. Receive excessively overwhelming amounts of secondary applications almost immediately. I take prophylactic carpal tunnel medication to prepare.
    08/06/12 Mayo application complete
08/08/12 BU and Harvard application complete
    08/14/12 SLU application complete
08/15/12 Rosalind Franklin and Michigan application complete
08/17/12 Rejected from Mayo. That was fast! Self-doubt returns.
---08/21/12 Interview Invite from GW! First ii, and from one of my top choices! Self-doubt dissipates.EVMS application complete. Popping the first bottle of Champagne!
08/22/12 Wake Forest sends me secondary
    08/24/12 Tufts application complete
***08/24/12 At this point I have turned in every secondary application I have received so far. I do not know the exact dates for when some of them were completed, so....I hope my apology is accepted***
08/26/12 Feinberg sends me a secondary.
    08/28/12 Small pool at MCW
09/07/12 Feinberg, Wake Forest and UMass applications complete. All applications now are complete! Popping the second bottle of champagne!
---09/10/12 Interview Invite at UMass! Impressed at the quick turnaround, and the efficiency of snail mail, which I hadn't really used in many years!
    ---09/13/12 Interview Invite at SLU
---09/28/12 Interview Invite at Temple: St. Lukes. Woo! Rejected from Pitt. Rejected from Brown. If it weren't for the interview invite, I'd probably be pretty bummed.
***Three months into the process checkpoint: 3 Rejections, 4 Interviews. I'll take that.***
10/02/12 Small Pool at Rosalind Franklin. Also, Small Pool at UVM somewhere around this time.
    10/11/12 GW Interview Attended
    10/16/12 SLU Interview Attended
10/23/12 Temple Interview Attended at St. Luke's.
$$$11/14/12 Accepted to SLU! First Acceptance! Popping that third bottle of Champagne! This is very excited, and most importantly, I would LOVE to attend SLU.
11/20/12 Withdrew applications from consideration for Duke, EVMS, Colorado and Drexel
11/26/12 Waitlisted at GW. Bummed for sure, and not sure how I'll approach this issue since I already have acceptances to schools I would certainly attend. I really did like their program and the school too.
11/27/12 Withdrew application from consideration for UNC
---11/28/12 Interview Invite at BU. Finally, a Boston school!
$$$12/14/12 Accepted to Temple University! They haven't specified the program yet, but I'm not complaining!
***Six months into the process checkpoint: 3 Rejections, 5 Interviews, 1 Wait List, 2 Acceptances! Here comes 2013!***
01/17/13 Rejected from Feinberg....guess I'm not going to Chicago
