July: Picking Schools: I knew I did pretty well with my GPA and my MCAT. I've got amazing state schools!!! So I figured I'd be able to apply to any other reaches OOS for giggles. I chose very carefully--where I thought I'd be most happy. God will place me where I'm needed. :) __________________________________________________________________________________________ November: Well, I'm going to be a doctor. For that, I could not be happier. However, I can't help but feel (insert emotion) about these holds. I suppose I'm interesting and cogent enough on paper to be invited for interviews, yet not a shoe-in during the interview. Or maybe it's something else. Maybe its my MCAT. Or the fact that its so competitive these days. It's really impossible to tell, I guess. I've sent a few updates and I'll be making some calls to admissions offices come January. I'll rally a few more letters of recommendation. Regardless, don't let the process define you! ___________________________________________________________________________ Early February: Easier said than done, but after interviewing folks for RA selection and after my own interviews, let me tell you about how to win that interview.
First of all, relax. Second of all, be courteous. Thirdly, be passionate, be yourself. Fourth, make that connection. Fifth, address your love for that school and why you'd be a perfect fit.
I wish I had a second chance at some of these interviews, so be your best and be happy with what happens. I was an interviewer myself, so I know how hard it was to differentiate applicants at first. Interviewers are looking for the easy signs to reject or accept you right away, so give the right reasons and don't be afraid to shine. Anyways, good luck! Withdrew--Loved the idea of Einstein, but with an interview this late and acceptances in hand at Cincy, the prospect of the Bronx can't buy me. Better this II go to someone who really wants to go NY.

Rejected. Nerves really messed up my first interview. My second interview I did not even get to talk--the interviewer talked the whole time! Goes to show how much these interview matter. (really depends on who's interviewing you)
