Summary of Application Experience
I'm a reclacitrant and overly-perfectionist writer. I let my secondary essays go until Thanksgiving because I was afraid of poor quality if I multi-tasked them during Cell, Biochem, Biotech and labs. Suffice to say that I screwed up and was late with most of my essays even though the schools cashed my checks.
I was especially disappointed that the recruitment letter I received from Wash U. of St. Louis went for nothing because of my delay.
I was extremely fortunate that the IU app didn't require an essay so I finished it the day I received it and put it in the mail. Getting into my hometown med school was my first choice all along.
I have learned my lesson and am working to be a more active writer and a prompt essayist. I will NOT let this happen to my residency match.
