Brief Profile: My GPA is on the low side (I double majored at a tough school... note to others: DON'T DO THAT!) but I like to think I make up for it by being well rounded in other areas. I'm hoping that this time with some well written secondaries and doing well in the SMP I can make it past waitlisting.

Summary of Application Experience
*Last year I applied with the same stats and interviewed at VCU, EVMS, and SLU...I'm currently still waitlisted.
For the record, to those of you w/o the 30+ mcat and the 3.5+ gpa... I still think it can happen.
6/26/07 ******* I finally caved and decided to make one of these profiles before I head off for a vacation. I'm starting an SMP at Georgetown and hoping that will help me out a little. Last year I think i was ultimately waitlisted because of my sub par stats.
7/18/07 ******* Well, I'm still waitlisted. I had what seemed like an encouraging conversation with the dean of EVMS, he told me not to give up hope for getting in this year... but realistically I have about 3 weeks to hear, so I am far from getting my hopes up. As far as secondaries go I suppose it's encouraging that I've gotten the screeners I was hoping for so far (honestly you can't predict anything with the UCs). I wonder if the fact that I interviewed last year will affect whether I get an interview again at certain schools. I can hope! OH well. I have 5/13 done... better get crackin.
7/26/07 ******* Getting ready to head to Georgetown. I've done a couple more secondaries. That RFU one was pretty impossible...SO vague... a 'life in discovery'? Oh well. It's kindof stressing me out that some schools won't consider me to be complete until they get a letter from Georgetown, and that won't happen for awhile.
9/14/07 *******
In the middle of classes at the SMP. No interviews yet, but none really expected till spring when they have seen some of my grades. I'm on hold at a few schools till my grades come in.
9/22/07 *******
Got the UC Davis secondary! I know it's not a huge deal, but it means a lot to me.
10/23/2007 **********
This program is HARD. So far, I don't really recommend it for anyone. Just retake the MCAT. Or do an easier masters.
01/26/2008 ********** No interviews yet and I'm starting to think they are right when they call the SMP a two year process.
