Summary of Application Experience
An early acceptance at NYU took a lot of pressure off of me in terms of knowing that I would be at a good school in a city (which was an important concern for me).
U Chicago is a great option, I think I will go there over NYU since the student seem to be really happy. They sent me scrubs in the mail, yay!
I had given up on getting interviews at many of the top schools and then Yale, Harvard, and Duke all gave me interviews in February!
3/18-- waitlisted at Columbia- this doesn't bode well for my chances elsewhere...
3/19 Duke let me in!
3/20 Waitlisted at cornell and rejected at Harvard...
3/26 Upenn and Yale both waitlisted me as well...It's nice that I didn't get flat out rejected but sad that two waitlists doesn't equal an acceptance.
4/10 Rejected from UCSF- a big let down but also a relief since I can stop checking my mail everyday like a maniac. I am still waiting to hear from the Berkeley/UCSF Joint Program though...
4/17 Called the Berkeley program since I still hadn't heard anything, add another waitlist to my collection
4/20 Withdrew from NYU
5/9 Generous scholarship from Pritzker- I will revisit next week to make sure I really like it (I definitely loved my interview day)
5/14 Withdrew from Einstein, Northwestern and Duke and am headed to Chicago in the fall!
5/29 Was placed in (upper half) of tier 2 for Yale's waitlist
6/5 Got accepted to Yale!
