Brief Profile:
I have a low GPA but that was mainly because of my engineering and advanced calculus classes (multivariable and ordinary differential equations). I applied a little late (September) but that was to make sure that I made a good impression with my personal statement. I think I could have gotten into more schools if I applied earlier. Anyway, I had some hobbies that most med schools thought were interesting including cooking and baking, martial arts, and poetry. I also did clinical research in the emergency room. Good LOR's only thing holding me back was the GPA. Used SDN for interviews and what not.

Summary of Application Experience
I was pretty relaxed throughout because I had done all that I could do. The rest is in the hands of the people on the adcoms. Make sure your essay is good and that you have something to talk about the interview. My GPA definitely should have prevented me from getting into med school but everything else was pretty good. Do your essays on time and make sure they are good. Good luck.
