UWO - I go here now. The students and the interview weekened were awesome. Didn't know much about the school when I applied, but came away from the interview weekend with a great impression. Their admissions people were extremely friendly, and promptly addressed any questions I had when I e-mailed or called them. Curriculum and hospitals are good, and the faculty that I've dealt with have been excellent. Less than 2 hours from home (the GTA), so I'm still close to my family.
Queen's - Very friendly students, nice new clinical skills facilities. Kingston seemed like a cozy place, but might be too much of a small town for me. Clerkship starts a bit later here than at other schools, but according to the faculty and students it won't hurt you in the CaRMS (residency app) process... I think they start electives earlier (interspersed with clerkship) to make up for it, but don't quote me on that.
U of T - students I met were friendly, admissions staff were alright(they moved my interview date due to a conflict). I was disappointed that they didn't have any social events at their interview weekends, like UWO and Queen's did. Class size is big, maybe a bit too big (198). Amazing hospitals and research. Toronto's the best city in the world, but I had been going to school here for 9 years (since grade 7) and didn't have an amazing time during undergrad here, so I guess it was a good time for a change. Though if I had gotten off the waitlist here before my UWO offer became final on July 3rd, it would have been a tough call, as all my family and friends are here.
U of Ottawa - Didn't really have any events other than the tour and info session, but the students I talked to were friendly. Laptops integrated into their curriculum. Ottawa seems like a fun city to live in, though a bit far away from home. Going to med school in a bilingual city would have been cool too, maybe I could have improved my French. :)
