Took the May 31st MCAT (one word: yikes!) and am waiting for my scores before I decide if/where to apply (I probably will have to retake). This is just a preliminary list of the schools that I'm interested in - the final list will be cut down (A LOT) from this depending on which schools I decide are a better fit for me.
I welcome any comments or advice about my candidacy. I appreciate any suggestions on schools to add/delete from this list based on my stats. Thanks for reading!
Good luck to everyone! :)
UPDATE 7/6/07: Got my scores (28R) - trying to decide where to apply since my scores were a little lower than what I need to be competitive. I'm even considering re-taking in January and applying next year. Any feedback is appreciated!
UPDATE 7/10/07: Submitted both AMCAS/AACOMAS today! :) Waiting for verification...
UPDATE 7/23/07: Both AMCAS/AACOMAS are verified! Bring on the secondaries!
UPDATE 8/8/07: I have interview invites at both IU and DMU (fast track) in September. I'm so thrilled about DMU -- it is one of my top DO schools!
UPDATE 8/17/07: I have now gotten three interviews! :) I never thought that I would have so many interviews this early! As a result, I have decided not to return in a few secondaries to save some money for hotels, etc. I just have to decide which ones...
UPDATE 9/11/07: I have submitted 23 secondaries (5 DO, 18 MD), and I think that is all I'm going to send, at least for a while. I didn't anticipate that I would get so many secondaries back. I am holding on to the other DO secondaries since they have a later deadline, and I think I am not sending back in Toledo or Rush due to being broke. :) I'm going to wait a month or so and see how the finances are then.
UPDATE 10/5/07: Acceptances at DMU and KCUMB!!! YAY!!!! I'm officially gonna be a doctor! Now, I just have to decide where I want to go by December 1st...
UPDATE 11/6/07: I have now interviewed at IU, DMU, KCUMB and UNECOM, and I've been accepted to DMU, KCUMB and UNECOM. My first seat deposit is due on Dec. 14th, so I will need to make a choice soon. I really LOVED all three schools, so it will be a tough choice. I'm really fortunate to get to choose. :)
As for the MD schools, it appears that I'm the queen of the hold. I do have one more interview at WVU in Dec., so we'll see how that goes. Although, I'll say it'll have to be an amazing school to tear me away from my current three acceptances.
UPDATE 11/19/07: I have been accepted to IUSM! It's my first choice, so I'm withdrawing from all my interviews and acceptances.
