Computational Neurophysiology experience, current projects in Community Health (2) and Environmental Health (1) ~National Conference presentations (2) ~Manuscript submission pending review (1) ~State report from project (1) - to be published in June 2006 ~Various shadowing since ~age 15 ~Other volunteer experience as high school soccer coach, Big Brother ~Worked 30-60 hours/wk since Sophomore year undergrad. 20 hours/wk in grad school.
Submitted secondaries within 2 weeks of receiving each (unless withdrawing), but my school mailed the letters of recommendation with the wrong postage and had to resend late.
Applications complete mid-December, some letters still not arrived to this date after two more requests for mailing.
Re-applicant from 2004 GPA messed up from administrative mistake recording medical withdraws as 3 F's
Was invited to interview at UNMC in November, but could not make it until January. Invited to interview UIUC MD/PhD Med Scholars Program in January.
Low-GPA and late applicants keep the faith - my graduate work was Pass/Fail
01/20/06 - Accepted at UNMC with a hefty scholarship offer...Sending withdraw letters to pretty much all but Nebraska and Illinois ^^
02/01/06 - All withdraw letters sent, it's down to 2!
02/05/06 - Back from U of I, and really impressed with the graduate programs...Going to be a touch choice if I'm lucky enough to be accepted!
02/13/06 - Accepted into the PhD program, *crosses fingers for MD and MSP*
02/21/06 - Got the phone call from the Dean, yay Illinois!
