Well I am headed to Marshall!! I did 4 interviews and got three acceptances, not too bad for an old lady. I think I would have gotten into VCU as well if I waited and lobbied - but it wasn't worth my going there for the huge expense. If I wasn't going to spend the estimated $60K a year - I would have gone to Case Western. I really liked it there (And I am actually a big fan of the snow!) - but I can't rationalize paying THAT much more for my medical education. Especially because Marshall has been extremely generous with some scholarship $. I know that med school scholarship $ are not easy to come by - and I just can't turn it down. Maybe I'll go to Case for residency! I am excited about Marshall though. The small class size is nice and they have blown the boards away the last three years. And the big movie that is coming out (We Are...Marshall) will probably help some with publicity and maybe pull the name recognition up a bit.
