Summary of Application Experience
Second time applying; primary submitted 08/15, verified 08/24. Last year I was on the top of the waitlist for University of Cincinnati but that baby just wouldn't move! My friend got into UCSF via the waitlist. How is that even possible? (waitlist for UCSF moves, but not for UCinn?) Oh well. (last year's profile is 4273)
I would have submitted my primary earlier, but I was still waiting to get into UCinn, but by August I realised I was most likely screwed, so started to work on AMCAS 2006 double time. Despite starting later, I actually got most of my secondaries in significantly earlier than last year by doing nothing but write secondary essays for about a month. I got more interviews than last year, and probably more importantly, EARLIER interviews. Got my fingers crossed.
UPDATE: 10/27/2005, happiest day of my life! :-) I got accepted to SLU!! And on the same day, interview invite from UCinn! What a day. It's 'Dr.' Chen to you, from now on ;-) Good luck to everyone else! Persistence pays off! If at first you don't get in...apply to different schools! (Instead of skipping a cycle)
