Summary of Application Experience
I graduated in '01 and applied to 30 schools a year later with a 31 MCAT and a 2.89 bcpm, and got zero interviews. Despite everyone's advice to do something else, I continued to work in a field that really interested me for 2 and a half years, volunteered, did some post-bacc work at SFSU and brought up my science GPA over a 3.0 (I also retook the MCAT this last fall and got a 29, since my old score was expired at 1/2 the schools I applied to). Now I've been accepted at 2 schools, so I guess persistence pays off.
User #3183 took the old MCAT and scored a 31 which is in the 83th percentile of all old scores.
We converted this to a 511 on the updated scale which is in the 85th percentile of the updated MCAT. We also converted User #3183’s section scores as follows:
User #3183 scored a 10 on the Biological Science section of the old MCAT which is approximately equal to a 127 on the Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems.
User #3183 scored a 11 on the Physical Science section of the old MCAT which is approximately equal to a 128 on the Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems.
User #3183 scored a 10 on the Verbal Reasoning section of the old MCAT which is approximately equal to a 127 on the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills.
