10-16: Got Vanderbilt waitlist letter today. I'm really disappointed. Maybe it was my lack of clinical experience? The interview wasn't exactly great, either. I'm in for a long wait. 1-15: I sent out a bunch of update letters over Christmas and am waiting to see if they accomplish anything. 2-7: Apparently they didn't. 3-22: The rejections have been rolling in all month. I hate this process. 3-24: WashU FINALLY decides to waitlist me, which was the best I could have hoped for at this point. The letter is encouraging, and at this point I'm taking it as a good sign. 5-19: Cryptic phone call from dean of Vanderbilt Medical School. He wants to meet with me and won't say why. 5-24: It's an acceptance!! I'll probably withdraw from the WashU waitlist - if they wanted to me to go there they should have accepted me already. Vandy here I come! :-)
