    Summary of Application Experience

I don't recommend this to any sane person unless medicine is truly your calling. You have to love this profession to go through the grueling application process. I applied the second AMCAS opened for the cycle to 12 schools. It took 4 weeks for everything to be verified. I spent the last week in July and the first week in August completing 11 secondaries. I was invited to 6 interviews. 5 in September and 1 in November. I was accepted early (10/15) to EVMS and MCV. While I was thrilled, hadn't heard from my first choice, UNC. In November I recieved their 'Your on Hold' letter, UGH! FIVE months later, I recieved the call that I was accepted. The absolute relief from the anxiety and anticpation is ovewhelming. I wish all of this years applicants luck! Make sure that whatever you are involved with now, that you love it and that they will really miss you when you move on. Those are the activities that adcoms love to see.
