Summary of Application Experience
9/8 - What a great way to start the weekend...I just found out that I have been invited for an interview at Case Western. What a stressful process, but very exciting when things work in your favor. Now, I'll just continue to pray that all will go well.
9/26 - Returned from interview at Case. Loved everything about the school, so now I'll anxiously await 10/16/06.
10/2 - Application on hold at Morehouse.
10/11 - Interview invite to Meharry.
10/15 - Currently on hold at Case.
10/16 - Interview invite to Emory; will interview on 10/23 because there was a cancellation.
10/24 - Returned from Emory interview and what can I say...it is awesome! Let's just wait and see if they loved me as much as I loved them. :)
11/7 - Returned from Meharry Medical College and was surprised by my visit. It is definitely a school that promotes family and are behind their students 100%.
11/16 - Wow, I just got my application complete email from Harvard today. I turned in everything back in August! I'm sure they threw my application to the bottom of the pile with my stats, but I had to give it a shot.
11/20 - Accepted to Meharry Medical College - HOLY CRAP I'M GOING TO BE A DOCTOR!!!!! What an incredible feeling knowing that I have accomplished my longterm goal. Wow...I really did it!
02/12 - Well it seems like it has been ages, but I finally got off being on hold at Morehouse and will be interviewing with them on March 9th! Please God, I love Meharry, but I would love to stay in Atlanta.
02/22 - Received my rejection from Mercer. I'm quite ok with this outcome b/c it brings me closure.
03/09 - Had my interview at Morehouse. I really enjoyed my visit. Again, as with all the schools I have been fortunate enough to visit, students were happy to be there. It was great to see all the professors sitting in the back of the lecture and students approaching them with various questions that they had.
03/12 - Was rejected by Harvard. Knew this was coming; however, it was the nicest rejection I've received. Still made me feel warm and fuzzy!
03/14 - Found out today that I was waitlisted at Emory. A huge relief as I was beginning to worry that I was rejected as I hadn't heard anything. Studentdoctor.net can cause you a lot of grief...luckily I checked my junk mail folder and their was my email notfiying me of my alternate status. WHEW!
04/03 - Found out today that I have been placed on the alternate list at Case Western. I'm feeling really lucky to be offered another alternate spot at such a fine institution.
...Later today I received my waitlist letter in the mail from Morehouse. Now I just wait patiently to see if I'm pulled off of any, but at least I know I'm going to Meharry!!!!
04/17 - Received my rejection letter from Medical College of Georgia. Again, I'm ok because it brings me closure.
