    Key:
    S - secondary submitted/sent
    C - complete
    I - interview invite/date
    A - accepted
    W - waitlisted
    X - withdrew
    R - rejected
Note: Some 'complete' dates are based on when I called, not necessarily the day I was first complete.

05/20/07 Currently working on apps and making final decisions about where to apply. I'm really looking forward to getting the ball rolling. I'm applying to several 'reach' schools that I don't have much chance at, but I'd rather spend the extra money to find out I didn't make it in, than later wonder, 'What if?' You never know what can happen, so I'm choosing to be optimistic.

05/21/07 My transcript has been received by AMCAS. Woo!

06/02/07 Everything is done for my AMCAS application, now I just have to wait to submit it. I wish the AACOMAS would go up already so I could get started on that as well.

06/04/07 AACOMAS posted! I've already filled pretty much everything out. I just have a few minor portions to complete and then I will have it sent out by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.

06/05/07 AMCAS submitted and already listed as ready for review!

06/07/07 AMCAS verified and sent. AACOMAS submitted.

06/18/07 AACOMAS verified and sent out to schools.

    06/22/07 Started receiving AMCAS secondaries.

    07/05/07 Started receiving AACOMAS secondaries.

07/13/07 I have received secondaries for half of the schools I applied to.

07/14/07 I received my first rejection, from EVMS. Eh, I didn't really want to go to school in Norfolk, Virginia anyway.

07/18/07 My last letter of recommendation is in. I can FINALLY start sending letters into the D.O. schools I've applied to.

07/24/07 I got my first interview invitation to Tulane!!! Woohoo!

08/02/07 I've heard from all but 4 schools. I'm getting impatient. I really want to have them all done before classes start.

08/05/07 I finally submitted University of Maryland's secondary. I was having a lot of trouble with one of their essays.

08/05/07 (later that night) I got my second interview invite! First invite to a DO School: Arizona COM!!

08/06/07 Received KCUMB's secondary - my last DO school. Now I'm just waiting on the last couple MD schools, and then I'm done with secondaries.

08/10/07 I have now heard from all the schools I applied to. 3 rejections isn't bad out of 36. A pre-secondary rejection from an in-state school stings a little, though. :(

08/14/07 My first post-secondary rejection, from another in-state school. This does not bode well. I have a feeling I will be hearing from the University of Michigan soon, and it won't be good. :'(

08/15/07 All DO school secondaries have been submitted.

08/16/07 I just mailed out my last secondary application. It feels great! I also received my 4th interview invitation, to KCUMB. I'm feeling good today!

08/17/07 I randomly checked the Midwestern University scheduling site and saw I had an interview for CCOM! I can't make any of the dates listed, though, so I have to call tomorrow to reschedule. I hope I can get a good date.

08/21/07 I called CCOM the other day about going on a different day, but they don't open new dates until the current ones are filled. I was told to call in mid-September to see what dates have opened. This kinda sucks. I hope I don't get totally screwed with a later date.

08/22/07 All schools are complete! It's just a waiting game now.

09/04/07 DMU interview invitation came today, after nearly 2 weeks of silence. Yay!

09/11/07 I had my first interview at Nova Southeastern today. Other than the fact that it was really hot and my shoes were killing me, it was a good experience. I'm looking forward to my next interview now!

09/14/07 My KCUMB interview was yesterday. I think it went really well. My host was awesome, and everybody I met was so friendly. The only negatives were that the school is pretty small, and it's in a somewhat unsafe location. But hey, both things I can handle. Hopefully I hear back soon that I got in! I really liked it there.

09/19/07 I GOT INTO NOVA!!! I'm gonna be a doctor! Woohoo. Talk about a great phone call. :-D I am ecstatic!

09/21/07 Tulane interview today. I think it went pretty well. They said they'll let us know pretty quick, so that's good.

09/22/07 I got my acceptance packet from NSU in the mail today, so now that I know it is official, I have withdrawn my application from DMU. I also received a letter from KCUMB today notifying me that I have been put on the 'Alternate list.'

09/28/07 I got an email from George Washington University today that I have been put on hold. Kinda sucks, but hey, it's better than a rejection, right? Yesterday was my AZCOM interview. Overall a pretty good experience, so I'm looking forward to hearing back from them.

10/04/07 I called Loyola to check my status today and found out that I've been put on hold and my file will be reviewed again after the first of the year. Better than a rejection, I keep telling myself.

10/10/07 I've been accepted to AZCOM! Wooooo!!! :-D

10/17/07 I interviewed at CCOM last week, which was a pretty good experience. I feel like I did well on the interview, and I enjoyed learning about the school. Hopefully I hear back soon.

10/19/07 Rosalind Franklin University rejection came today, along with my acceptance letter from AZCOM. Bittersweet, but I'll survive. I'm just so proud that I got into two schools and now have the luxury of choosing where I go to medical school. This is awesome! Hopefully other applicants with less than stellar stats will see my profile and realize they have a chance as well. I thought I'd get rejected from every single school, and here I am now with 2 acceptances, only a few months into the cycle. Good luck to everyone! I can't wait to see what else this year brings.

10/25/07 I called Tulane to check my status today. I'm in the acceptance range, which the woman I spoke with said was a good thing. Apparently though, 'acceptance range' is just a nice way of saying you're waitlisted. :( I heard their waitlist didn't move at all last year, so I'm going to remain hopeful but assume the worst. At least I wasn't rejected.

10/26/07 My online status at UIC changed today. A final decision has been made and a letter has been sent in the mail. I'm almost positive this is a rejection, but just in case, I'll wait to permanently cross it off my chart (yeah I'm a nerd) until I get the letter. Chicago really is not showing me the love I had hoped for.

10/27/07 Got my waitlist letter from CCOM today. Sad. :( I was hoping to be accepted there.

11/02/07 Rejected from UIC by mail. Man, Chicago really doesn't like me. The letter says to call if I want an explanation regarding their decision, but I don't know if I'm going to.

11/08/07 My status at SUNY Buffalo was updated to 'Non-accept' today. The least they could do is tell me they flat out rejected me, as opposed to saying I'm non-accepted, lol. Eh. Buffalo's even colder than it is here, so I can deal.

11/13/07 I received a rejection in the mail from Albany today. It was a pretty long letter, which I thought was nice. Oh well. Another one bites the dust.

12/02/07 I sent my deposit for NSU in recently, so unless I hear from some other schools, this is pretty much definitely where I'll be headed next year! An exciting and at the same time sad feeling. It's been my dream to live in New York City since I was maybe 12, and the way things are shaping up, it doesn't look like I'm going to be there for medical school. :( On the bright side, there's always residency, which I'll be applying for mostly in the Manhattan area if I don't go there for medical school. It's still a bit sad, though. I wish those schools would give me a chance.

12/03/07 Everything has been received by NSU for my acceptance and deposit, so I officially withdrew from AZCOM tonight. I hope that someone else who really wants to go there is accepted in my place.

12/11/07 Received SUNY Downstate rejection in the mail today.

12/13/07 Snail mail rejection from George Washington. I'd been on hold for a while anyway, so it wasn't unexpected.

12/16/07 I sent an email to UMaryland the other day about being in the area in January. I'm not counting on anything coming through since I'm already on hold, but I figured it can't hurt.

12/22/07 My grades finally came through (I'm a college graduate!), so I sent update emails to all but one of the schools I haven't heard from yet (I couldn't find an email address). I'll probably submit forms to mail official transcripts out on Monday, although who knows when they'll actually go out, since it's the holiday season and all.

12/26/07 My transcripts won't be updated to include graduating until mid-January. I hope that the email I sent will be enough to hold some of the schools off on rejecting me until I can send the official transcripts in the mail.

01/18/08 I received my first rejection of the new year today, from Temple University. I had already seen the change in my status on their website, so I was prepared. One less school to wonder about, I suppose.

01/23/08 I was waitlisted at MSUCOM today via email. I was given the option to visit the campus, but as I would rather go to NSUCOM anyway, I declined. I did accept the waitlist position though, just to see what happens.

01/25/08 I just got a rejection email from UMich. I can't believe I was rejected pre-interview by all 3 state MD schools. Talk about harsh. What a burn.

02/07/08 My UVermont status page was updated to reflect my rejection. Oh well. It's probably even colder there in the winter than it is in Michigan.

02/13/08 I just found out that the transcripts I thought were sent out a month ago never were, so I re-sent them today. I am so pissed! I wonder if Vermont would have rejected me if they'd had my updated grades.

02/14/08 I received my official rejection from UMich today. Joy. I also sent a letter to Vermont about the transcript issue, although I doubt it will do any good at this point. It can't hurt.

02/25/08 St. Louis University rejected me via email today. I have now been rejected by exactly half of the MD schools to which I applied.

03/01/08 I received a rejection from Maryland today after being on hold for months.

03/06/08 NYU rejection via mail today. I knew about this, since they had stopped interviewing in January. It still hurts, though. I really wanted to go there.

03/17/08 Rejected from Albert Einstein via mail.

03/31/08 NJMS rejection came in the mail today.

04/03/08 Loyola rejection came today. As late as it was, I was hoping to get an interview there since my best friend works as a nurse in their hospital.

04/11/08 I emailed someone at UToledo regarding not hearing anything in several months. I received a response not too long after saying that they had decided not to interview me and a letter was in the mail.

    04/12/08 MSSM rejection via mail.

04/14/08 Penn State rejection. I expected this since they're a research school and I have no research experience.

04/15/08 University of Louisville. The rejections are just flying in now! Haha.

04/18/08 Wright State letter came today. Strangely, it was dated March 10th, but wasn't mailed until April 16th. Proof that schools make decisions long before letting applicants know. Rude, if you ask me.

05/16/08 NYMC rejection came in the mail today. After the May 15th deadline. Typical. I still have not received 3 other rejections, which is ridiculous at this point. I plan to send them emails about this.

07/21/08 I haven't updated this in a while because little has happened. At some point in June I was notified that MSU-COM's orientation had started and its spots were all filled. Other than that, I still have not heard anything from three MD schools, which I find quite rude. As for the remaining waitlisted schools, it no longer matters, as I am leaving for Florida in just over a week and don't intend to completely change everything I have planned up until now. Good luck to everyone in the future!
